Strong / Hard Pressure Thai Massage

Hard Pressure Thai Massage Edinburgh

Harmony Thai Massage and Wellness offers Thai massage in levels of pressure including catering for people who prefer strong and hard pressure Thai massage.

Some people refer to this as traditional Thai massage which normally means hard pressure massage without oil. In Thailand this is often completed on the floor, where the masseuse uses their knees, elbows and feet as well as their hands to manipulate different parts of your body and apply stronger pressure.

In Edinburgh and Scotland, customers often ask for strong Thai massage when referring to a high pressure Thai massage.

We will communicate with you before your massage begins and during it, to ensure that together we can arrive at the correct levels of pressure for different parts of your body. Sometimes harder massage is not always the most effective, contrary to some customers beliefs.

Often if someone has tight muscles and pain due to active lifestyles and things like exercise, hot stone massage combined with some deep tissue massage can be more effective. Our experienced massage therapists will recommend what is best for your needs after having a chat.

"The shop is of high standard, the therapist enjoys a nice chat. I would 100% recommend to everyone."

Strong Thai Massage Benefits

A strong Thai massage, often referred to as a deep tissue, intensive Thai massage or high pressure Thai massage, offers a range of benefits that can promote both better health and performance.

Here are some of the key benefits of a strong Thai massage:

  1. Relieves Muscle Tension and Stiffness: The strong pressure applied during a Thai massage helps to release muscle knots, tension, and stiffness, promoting muscle relaxation and improving flexibility.

  2. Alleviates Chronic Pain: Strong Thai massage techniques can effectively target and alleviate chronic pain, including back pain, neck pain, and joint pain, providing long-lasting relief.

  3. Improves Circulation: The deep pressure and stretching movements in a strong Thai massage help to stimulate blood circulation and lymphatic drainage, which can promote healing and detoxification.

  4. Enhances Flexibility and Range of Motion: The stretching and yoga-like poses in Thai massage can help to increase flexibility, improve range of motion, and enhance overall body alignment.

  5. Promotes Better Sleep: Many people find that a strong Thai massage helps to improve sleep quality by promoting relaxation, reducing stress, and relieving muscle tension after the massage is completed, which can lead to better overall sleep.

  6. Improves Posture: Regular strong Thai massage can help to improve posture by releasing muscle tension, realigning the spine, and promoting better body awareness.

  7. Enhances Athletic Performance: Athletes and active individuals may benefit from a strong Thai massage as it can help to reduce muscle soreness, improve flexibility, and enhance overall physical performance.

  8. Holistic Wellness: Strong Thai massage offers a holistic approach to wellness, addressing both physical and energetic aspects of the body. It can help to balance the body, mind, and spirit, promoting a sense of overall well-being.

While a strong Thai massage can offer numerous benefits, it's important to communicate with your massage therapist about your comfort level and any specific areas of concern. Some people may find strong pressure to be too intense, so it's essential to find a balance that is both effective and enjoyable for you. Always consult with a healthcare provider before getting a strong Thai massage if you have serious underlying health conditions or injuries.

"Fantastic traditional Thai massage, I've been to a few different Thai massage salons in Edinburgh, most are very good but the massage at Harmony Thai Massage and Wellness stood out as it was targeted on my problem area (at the time!) and Melanie used a few techniques where unique and really worked. I do quite a lot of intense exercise, mainly weightlifting so I need regular massage to try and keep my joints and muscles loose. I had an issue with my back before my massage after a minor injury from deadlifting. The massage provided relief and I was back training the next day. Great location as well for parking, with a car park to avoid the vigilant Edinburgh traffic wardens! Highly recommend for active people and anyone look to relax."
